Our story

A specialist trade for Cobb County buildings

Darrin Straub started Advanced Stucco Repair in 1999 because too many stucco and EIFS problems were being handled by crews who treated the finish coat as the whole job. His view was simple: a stained or cracked facade is almost always a water problem, and the fix has to address the wall behind the finish. That is still how we approach every building.

Marietta has been part of our working territory for years. Its mix of property types is a good test of a specialist: barrier EIFS on office parks, decades of tenant changes on retail centers, breezeways and balconies on large apartment communities, and older buildings downtown where exterior changes need a careful hand. We survey, test, repair and finish all of it, and we write scopes that owners, boards and asset managers can act on.

We are not a general contractor and do not take on unrelated work. Stucco, EIFS, sealants, flashing, sheathing and coatings are what we do, and our clients rely on us because we stay inside that lane and do it thoroughly.

The ASR standard

What you can expect on every building

From a single leaking storefront to a full condominium recoat, the same six commitments apply.

Diagnose before we cut

Moisture readings at windows, joints and parapets, plus water testing where the leak path is unclear, so the scope matches the real damage.

Readings, not guesswork

Fix the water path

We correct the failed sealant, flashing or termination that let water in, so the same elevation does not need the same repair again.

Cause closed, not covered

Scopes boards can approve

Photos, readings and an itemized scope by elevation that separates urgent water intrusion from cosmetic work, with phasing options for budgets and reserves.

Written and itemized

Work around occupants

Phased elevations, open entrances and noisy work scheduled around tenants, residents and business hours.

Occupied-building planning

Build it in the right layers

Sheathing, weather barrier, flashing, lath, base and finish installed and lapped in order, with proper cure time between coats.

Correct from the studs out

Match the facade

Custom pigment and aggregate blends, sample areas for approval, and recoats corner to corner where a patch would show.

Color & texture matched
How we work

From site walk to finished facade

Every commercial project follows the same three steps, so managers, boards and owners know what is happening and why.

  • Leak reports reviewed
  • Readings by elevation
  • Photo documentation

Written scope & quote

You receive an itemized scope by elevation, with repair and recoat options and a phasing plan that fits budgets, reserves and approvals.

  • Itemized by elevation
  • Urgent vs. cosmetic
  • Phasing options

Phased repair & finish

Crews work elevation by elevation, replace wet substrate, correct flashing and sealants, and finish with a matched color and texture.

  • Access & safety planned
  • Daily cleanup
  • Matched finish

In our clients’ words

Long-term clients on what it is like to work with Advanced Stucco Repair on stucco repair and water intrusion work.

★★★★★
“We had a section of our wall that was crumbling, and I was worried the repairs would stand out. Not only did they fix the issue, but they matched the color and texture so perfectly that I honestly can’t tell where the damage was.”

From Canton to Marietta

Close enough to know Marietta’s buildings

Our base in Canton puts Marietta within easy reach by I-575 and I-75, and our crews and estimators work across Cobb County regularly.

Working in one region for a long time teaches you its buildings. We know which decades of Marietta office parks used barrier EIFS, how retail centers along the corridors were built and remodeled, and how Georgia heat and storms age sealant on a south-facing wall. That experience shortens the time between a site walk and a useful scope. It also means we know the practical side of working here, including sorting out whether a property answers to the City of Marietta or to Cobb County.

Questions & answers

About ASR, for Marietta clients

Common questions from Marietta property managers, boards, owners and general contractors.

Do you have an office in Marietta?
No. We are based in Canton and our estimators come to the property in Marietta for the site walk, so there is no office visit needed.
Do you work in both the City of Marietta and unincorporated Cobb County?
Yes. We work on properties throughout the Marietta area regardless of jurisdiction. Permit requirements differ between the city and the county, so check with the right building department for your address.
How long has Advanced Stucco Repair been in business?
Since 1999. The company was founded by Darrin Straub, who still leads it as President.
What kinds of properties do you work on?
Commercial and multifamily properties: office buildings and office parks, shopping centers, condominiums and HOAs, apartment communities, restaurants, medical and professional offices, and new construction for general contractors.
Can you work with our board or ownership approval process?
Yes. Our written scopes are itemized by elevation and separate urgent water intrusion from cosmetic work, so a board, owner or asset manager can review, phase and approve the work in stages.
